Mr Alain Corneau

Born in Meung-sur-Loire, Loiret, France, Alain Corneau is the director of the film ` Words in Blue ' to be screened at IFFI Goa 2005. He is a jazz musician and a graduate of IDHEC in Direction and Editing. He has assisted directors like Costa-Gavras, Roger Corman, Nadine Trintignant, Marcel Bozuffi, Marcel Camus and Marcel Drach before directing the film France Société Anoyme in 1973. He then went on to direct several critically acclaimed films like `Police Python 357,' `La Menace,' `S érie Noire,' `Le Choix desArmes,' `Le Môme,' `Le Nouveau Monde' and `Le Cousin.'

Mr Saeed Akhtar Mirza

Profile:
Born in Bombay, Saeed Mirza worked in the advertising industry before joining FTII, Pune. Saeed Mirza's early films, usually about the working class of Bombay, attempt a free-flowing narrative influenced by Brazilian films. He collaborated with K Hariharan, Mani Kaul and others to form the Yukt Film Co-operative where he made his first feature film, Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan.

Mr Faramarz Gharibian
Member - Award winning actor from Iran
Profile:
Born in 1941 in Tehran. He studied film acting at the college of Visual Arts in the U.S. He began his artistic activities in 1966 as assistant director on Massud Kimiaie's `Come Stranger,' appearing in a cameo role in the same film. But his serious and professional career began with his performance in the film `The Earth' (1973). He has so far appeared in over 50 films most of which were made before the revolution. Gharibian has also directed two films, of which the first, titled `Fight in Tasuki' (1986). He was nominated for the Simorgh Prize for Best Actor for the film `The Wolf's Trail,' and won that prize three times for his performances in `The Train' (1988), `The Misty Harbor' (1993) and `The`Rain Man' (1999) at various editions of Fajr Film Festival. He has also won several awards at prestigious world film festivals

Profile:
She began working as a production assistant and assistant director before attending Vienna's Film Academy, where she specialized in screenwriting and dramaturgy. She has directed short and documentary films. "Step On It" is her first feature film.
