Synopsis:  ‘The Bong Connection,’ in Bengali mixed with English and shot in Kolkata and Houston, is a good-natured satire around the Bengali community as seen in these two polarised cities. The film follows two young men in search of their personal aspirations and destiny. Computer engineer Apu (Parambrata Chattopadhyay) is tired of Kolkata and bemons its future. He moves to the US hoping to make a better life for himself. Andy (Shayan Munshi), a young Bengali musician raised in New York, journeys to Kolkata hoping to imbibe its rich language and culture and link with his grandfather. The story of two young men trying to achieve their dreams in a foreign land. For one, Kolkata is dying and stagnant. For the other, Kolkata is still the mecca of culture and arts. Two stories that run parallel, eratically, never quite merging, yet colliding. In the end they discover their true place of belonging, wiser and more mature, after tasting life on both sides of this global world.
