India 's emergence as a major economic power has captured international attention. It is universally accepted that India is riding high on the economic reforms and growth wave. Today, India merges tops in the radar of the global business community making for a profitable investment destination. Not only is India 's economy exciting, its filmed entertainment space is bubbling with new growth prospects. While the Indian film industry is undergoing rapid changes in its value chain, showbiz companies are adapting to the best practices of film making processes.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has been driving several initiatives to promote growth and development of India 's showbiz sector under the umbrella brand of ‘ India - The Big Picture'. CII has also been spearheading and positioning Indian entertainment companies at the Cannes International Film Market and the American Film Market.

Coinciding with the 37 th International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2006), CII organises a one-and-half- day conference ‘India - The Big Picture' at The Goa Marriott Resort, on November 22 and 23 . The conference is dedicated to the changing face of Indian Cinema and envisions to provide direction for catalysing growth of the Indian film entertainment space. Focused on the content and financing aspects of the film business with individual sessions on film marketing, communication, co-production and new technologies, the CII endeavours to open new vistas through a lively series of keynotes, panel discussions and case studies, presenting growth opportunities and strategies to overcome challenges facing the Indian film industry. The conference provides an opportunity to network with the key executives from the leading organisations in the business.

The conference's culmination merges with the opening of the 37 th International Film Festival of India, Goa, 2006 on November 23 following with the inaugural of the Film Bazaar on November 24-29 at the Kala Academy, supported by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), Entertainment Society of Goa, Government of Goa and Indian Film Exporters Association. Hosted for six days, the Film Bazaar welcomes participation from international countries, film associations, film exporters, production houses, post production studios, technology and infrastructure providers, etc. The Film Bazaar and the workshops will be accessible to all festival delegates.
