Member, Award winning Actress from Poland.
GRAZYNA SZAPOLOWSKA - the stage, TV theatre and movie actress; the star of European movies of : Krzysztof Kieslowski, Andrzej Wajda, Marco Bellocchio, Istvan Szabo, Florestano Vancini, Krzysztof Zanussi, Laszlo Lugossy, Karoly Makk, and many others.; interpretator of actors’ songs.
Born in 1953 in Bydgoszcz
After receiving the Secondary School Certificate she went to Wroclaw and performed for 2 years in the famous Pantomima Theatre of Henryk Tomaszewski.
1977- Graduated from The National Academy of Drama in Warsaw.
1977- 1984 – the stage actress at the National Theatre in Warsaw.
Then,she gave up the stage and started acting in cinema and TV theatre.

1985- first cinema success in Poland: “Gold Duck” Best Actress for 1984 ( for Kieslowski” NO END” , awarded by the readers of “Film” Monthly; the title of The Star of the Movie Season awarded at the Lagow Film Festival in Poland.
The same Award repeated also in the years: 1986 – for M. Lazarkiewicz’s film ‘THROUGH THE TOUCH” ,1989- for the film A SHORT FILM ABOUT LOVE and in 2001 for A. Wajda’s film “PAN TADEUSZ” .
After having played in numerous films she starts in 2000 performing for the National Theatre in Warsaw.( plays of Chandler, Shakespeare, Boccaccio, Racine, Gombrowicz, Pinter and many others).
Grazyna is also currently working as the writer of the feature film –a biography of famous Pola Negri- the pre-war Polish actress, who as the first European actress made the career in Hollywood.
