FILM Bazaar

 

To promote the Cinemas of India, NFDC brings to you Film Bazaar 2007, a platform to promote Indian films through a Business Lounge and a Co-production Market. The Film Bazaar will be conducted from 24th to 26th November in Goa alongside the 38th International Film Festival of India.The Business Lounge will be an interactive platform between prospective buyers & sellers of film rights from India & abroad. The Lounge is open to all content owners and buyers. At the Co-production Market, 15 pre-selected projects drawn from all over India will be presented to all Film Bazaar participants from India & abroad. Films at all stages of production (from pre-production to post-production) can be entered in the Co-production Market.

The following projects (at any stage of production from pre-production to rough cut stage) drawn from all over India will be presented to all Film Bazaar participants, both from India and abroad, with a view to exploring co-production and/or sales opportunities.

Film Conclave & Business lounge
The Film Conclave is being organized in association with Screen International and European Producers Club and will comprise a keynote address, seminars, and panel discussions. The Business Lounge aims at providing an interactive platform between prospective buyers and sellers of all film rights from India and abroad.

Screenwriters Bloc (18th - 23rd Nov) - A Script Development Workshop
The aim of the workshop is to develop eight pre-selected Indian scripts for the international market, will provide a platform for seven Indian scriptwriters to work out and finalize already developed screenplays through active consultation and interaction with a select team of seven renowned professionals from the global film industry, including India. The eight scripts will be analyzed in detail through the workshop and focus on various aspects of the projects such as structure, characters, plot development, and dialogue. The six mentors for the workshop are Danis Tanovic (No Man’s Land), Bernd Lichtenberg (Goodbye Lenin), Olivia Hetreed (Girl with a Pearl Earring), Shaji Karun, Anjum Rajabali, and Ashwini Malik.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has been driving several initiatives to promote growth and development of India's showbiz sector under the umbrella brand of 'India - The Big Picture'. CII has also been spearheading and positioning Indian entertainment companies at the Cannes International Film Market and the American Film Market.

Coinciding with the 38th International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2007), CII will organise a two day conference 'India - The Big Picture' at The Goa Marriott Resort, on November 22 and 23 . The conference is dedicated to the changing face of Indian Cinema and envisions to provide direction for catalysing growth of the Indian film entertainment space. Focused on the content and financing aspects of the film business with individual sessions on film marketing, communication, co-production and new technologies, CII endeavours to open new vistas through a lively series of keynotes, panel discussions and case studies, presenting growth opportunities and strategies to overcome challenges facing the Indian film industry. The conference provides an opportunity to network with the key executives from the leading organisations in the business.
