Synopsis : Subir Kumar is a famous professional singer. Thronged by female fans, Subir does not plan to marry until he meets Uma, a musically gifted girl in a village. Upon his return to Mumbai, he fosters his wife Uma’s singing career. As her singing career thrives and her popularity soars, it starts to hurt Subir’s pride, resulting in their marriage falling apart.


Lata Mangeshkar (1929 – 2022) is widely considered as one of the greatest Indian playback singers and was known as the ‘Queen of Melody’. In a career spanning eight decades, she recorded songs in over 36 Indian languages and a few foreign languages. She is the recipient some of the highest national and international honours; Dadasaheb Phalke Award (1989), Padma Vibhushan (1999), Bharat Ratna (2001), Officer of the National Order of the Legion of Honour (2007), as well as three National Film Awards, 15 Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards, seven Filmfare Awards, and has been conferred with many more honours and accolades.
