The 50th International Film Festival of India, 2019 will witness over 200 of the best films from 76 countries, 26 feature films and 15 non-feature films in the Indian Panorama section and around 10,000 people and film lovers are expected to participate in the golden jubilee edition.
The Mumbai International Film Festival, which is organized by The Films Division, Government of India and is supported by the Government of Maharashtra, is the oldest competitive event for documentary, short fiction and animation films in South-East Asia.
In order to celebrate the spirit of 50 Golden Years of International Film Festival of India, the Films Division has curated a package of 17 MIFF award-winning films made in the last 10 years which includes documentaries, short fiction and animation films across the globe including Germany, Russia, Romania, United Kingdom and South Korea apart from India.
One of the directors featured is Suresh Eriyat who has made animation films and pioneered Clay/Stop motion films in advertising in India. He is the first Indian to win the prestigious Cristal Award at Annecy for Rotary International.
The list also features Chandrasekhar Reddy who has been a writer and producer-director for BBC, National Geographic Asia, Discovery Asia and the UNDP and made many documentaries/shorts. ‘Fireflies in the Abyss’ is his first feature documentary.

The 2019 Golden Jubilee edition of the International Film Festival of India will be held from the 20th-28th of November 2019 at Panjim, Goa. The festival will see a variety of films in many languages from all around the world coming together under a single roof. The other movies under the different Film Sections will be released soon.
