Closing Film of IFFI 2018 : World Premiere of Film ‘Sealed Lips’

The 49th edition of the International Film Festival of India will be held over the span of 9 days this November. IFFI, which is one of Asia’s First Film Festivals, has always promised and delivered a wide range of tasteful movies. The Opening and Closing Films of IFFI always hold importance and hence, after carefully watching each of 212 movie that are to be screened, the jury plan on ending the film festival with a movie that will take you through a whirlwind of emotions. The movie selected by the esteemed jury is Sealed Lips by Bernd Böhlich.

This thrilling movie takes you back in time to the 1930 Soviet Union, where a  young German Communist , Antonia Berge , is accused of being a spy and sent to a labour camp. Once she is released from the gulag in 1952, she returns to the East German Socialist state along with her daughter. Ultimately, She is forced to to keep her past life hidden for the sake of her and her family’s freedom.

However, as soon her life seems to be  going as planned, the plot thickens and her freedom is once again lost in the dark. From then on begins a journey where she struggles to make the choice between the lesser of the two evils, her dark past or the bleak future.


The Closing Film of the 49th edition of The International Film Festival of India will be the world premiere of the movie Sealed Lips. It was both directed and written by Bernd Böhlich, a German filmmaker who has made over 30 films. Catch this exclusive film first, along with other World and Indian premieres only at IFFI 2018.
