Synopsis: During WWII, Italian submarine commander Salvatore Todaro sinks the Belgian ship Kabalo but rescues its crew, risking his submarine and men. When asked why, he says, "The others do not have, like me, 2,000 years of civilization behind them."

Directors Bio: Edoardo De Angelis is an Italian film director and screenwriter. His second feature film Perez (2014) competed at 71st Venice IFF. He wrote and directed Indivisible (2016) which played at Venice 2016; won 6 David di Donatello Awards, and 5 Silver Ribbons. The Vice of Hope (2018) was presented at Rome IFF and won the People's Choice Award.
