Synopsis: The intense friendship between two thirteen-year old boys, Leo and Remi, suddenly gets disrupted. Struggling to understand what has happened, Leo approaches Sophie, Remi’s mother. Close is a film about friendship and responsibility.
Director’s Bio: Lukas Dhont was born in Ghent, Belgium where he earned a degree in Audio-Visual Arts from the KASK Conservatorium. His short films ‘Corps Perdu’ and ‘L’Infini’ have received numerous awards. In 2016, Dhont participated in Cannes Cinéfondation Residence with ‘Girl’ which combined themes of dance, transformation and identity. ‘Girl’ won the Caméra d’Or (2018) in Cannes.
