Synopsis: Ashoke Gupta, an idealistic doctor in a town near Calcutta discovers that the water at a popular temple is the source of an outbreak of typhoid and hepatitis due to a damaged underground water piping system. This water is served as Charanamrita or holy water to the temple visitors. In order to save lives, he risks his career to try and call attention to this polluted water source, while a local group of building contractors attempts to discredit him in various ways. They prevent him from alerting people as the temple is a source of income for all the corrupt politicians. However, in the end, Dr. Gupta gets justice after many trials and tribulations.
