Following a liberating encounter with a charismatic and smooth-talking guide Raju (Dev Anand), a transformation of great magnitude occurs in both these characters. With music by S. D. Burman, a longtime collaborator of Navketan, and lyrics by Shailendra, the film reaches the heights of an epic odyssey as Raju becomes both witness and catalyst to a series of epochal events.
