The Masterclasses and the In-conversation sessions were, the highlights of the 53rd IFFI, where Masters/experts in different disciplines of filmmaking explored through self-reflection, memories and conceptual interventions their contribution to the field of motion pictures. To give the pure academic flavour, for the first time the sessions were conceived and curated by Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute.
The sessions also witnessed interaction with the audience where they shared their artistic experiences, nuances and techniques of related fields. There were reflections on the glorious past to the discussions on the future of content. Notable speakers in these sessions were, A. R. Rahman, Shekar Kapur, Nawazuddin Sidiqqui, Pankaj Tripathy, Rishab Shetty, Mark Osborne, Ramesh Sippy, Anil Mehta, Christian Jaezdic, etc including some special academic presentations by Tata Institute of social sciences and Academy Colour Encoding System.
A total of 10 Masterclasses and 14 In-conversation Sessions were organized at the 53rd International Film Festival of India, from November 21 to November 28, 2022, at Maquinez Palace Theatre (Auditorium -1), Panaji, Goa. All the masterclasses and In-conversation Sessions were conducted successfully in collaboration with Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata (SRFTI).
