Synopsis: The film narrates the story of a middle-class Manipuri family, Tonsa, a retired man and his three adult children. All are votaries of the new and old values in society and begin to drift in different directions pulled by their diametrically opposite attitudes. The family seems to be destined to disintegrate till they begin to understand each other better to live harmoniously.


Director: Debkumar Bose is the director of the first full-length Manipuri feature film Matamgi Manipur released in the year 1972. The film went on to win the President's Medal (Rashtriya Chalchitra Purashkar) at the 20th National Film Awards.He also directed mainajan in 1980 and was a critical success. Debkumar Bose will be remembered as the Indian cinema's great also release date of his first film In remembrance of the occasion of release of this first feature film of Manipur, every year, April 9 is celebrated as Mami Numit (Cinema Day) in the state.
