Synopsis: Halim and Mina run a traditional caftan store in one of Morocco’s oldest medinas. In order to keep up with the demands of the customers, they hire Youssef. The talented apprentice shows utmost dedication in learning the art of embroidery and tailoring from Halim. Slowly Mina realises how much her husband is moved by the presence of the young man.
Director’s Bio: Maryam Touzani, a Moroccan filmmaker, did Journalism from London. Her first short When they Slept (2012), won 17 awards worldwide while her second Aya goes to the beach (2015) won 15. In 2019, Touzani became a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures. Touzani’s second film The Blue Caftan (2022) features in UnCertain Regard, Cannes.
