Synopsis: New technologies are transforming a 19th-century watchmaking town in Switzerland. Josephine, a young factory worker, produces the unrest wheel, swinging in the heart of the mechanical watch. Exposed to new ways of organising money, time and labour, she gets involved with the local movement of the anarchist watchmakers, where she meets Russian traveller Pyotr Kropotkin.
Director’s Bio: Cyril Schäublin (1984, Zürich, Switzerland) from a watchmaker’s family, studied cinema at Zhongxi Academy, Beijing and went on to study Direction at DFFB, Berlin. His debut feature Those who are Fine (2017) premiered in Locarno and screened at numerous festivals including Rotterdam and NY. Unrueh /Unrest (2022) is his second feature.
