IFFI 2019 in all its grandeur will see 3 premieres as opening, mid-fest and closing films.
The opening film will be Europe’s master filmmaker Mr.Goran Paskaljevics drama film “Despite the Fog”, which talks about an orphaned refugee -Ali, who is in search of a better life. The story dwells further into his acceptance by an Italian couple, lamenting over their deceased child. The couple, however, faces evident shares of Xenophobic encounters from their family.
Dir. Martin Schreier’s, “Traumfabrik” has been selected as the mid-fest premiere for IFFI 2019. The romantic drama film is set in the 1960s and shows the will of a young studio extra to pursue a French girl he is in love with after being separated by the construction of the Berlin Wall.
IFFI 2019 also marks the India Premiere of “Marghe and her Mother” directed by Iranian Master, Dir. Mohsen Makhmalbaf. The movie talks about Marghe, a six-year-old who lives with her single mother Claudia who’s been kicked out of her house because of payment difficulties, leaving Marghe to an old woman next door.
