Synopsis :
Dr. Amarnath falls in love with Chanda, while visiting Darjeeling with a promise to return which he never keeps. Years later, he learns that Chanda was married to a crippled old man, had a daughter Kajli, became insane and died. Kajli, closely resembling her mother ends up at a brothel. Amarnath brings her home but Kajli falls in love with him.


Director :
Bhupinder Singh (1940 – 2022) was an Indian musician, a ghazal and playback singer for Hindi films. He started his career with All India Radio and also worked with Doordarshan. He was given the opportunity to sing alongside Mohammed Rafi, Talat Mahmood and Manna Dey in Chetan Anand's Haqeeqat (1964) and got a solo by Khayyam in the film Aakhri Khat (1966). Mid-1980s onwards, he began singing jointly with his wife Mitali at concerts and released many ghazal albums. Some of his famous songs are “Dil Dhoondta hai”, “Do diwane shahar mein”, “Naam gum jayega”, and “Ek akela is Shehar Mein”.
