Oday Rasheed born June 17, 1973 is an Arab-American film director, screenwriter and producer born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq. Rasheed immigrated to New York City in 2012. He has been living and working in Los Angeles since 2022. Rasheed's debut film Underexposure (2005) was praised for inventing a guerrila style of filmmaking. He continues organising workshops for young Iraqi filmmakers and in 2008, he co-founded the Iraqi Independent Film Center for young artists. He has lectured on film studies at universities across the world from Cinémathèque Française in Paris, Georgetown University, New York University and University of California in the United States, as well as at the Japan Foundation Forum, The Council of Foreign Affairs in NY and others.
