Later, he joined Madhya Pradesh Film Development Corporation and was responsible for organising film festivals, workshops and seminars apart from film production and publication coordination. Arun Kumar Singh, also known as Arun Shekhar, is a distinguished theatre professional and scholar. He holds a postgraduate degree (M.A.) in Hindi Literature from the University of Mumbai (2016). Arun served as a preview committee member for the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and for the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) in 2022. His contributions span theatre playwriting, directing, and acting since 1989. He curated 100 plays for Zee Theatre and conducted workshops in major Mumbai colleges. Arun is also an accomplished writer with published works including the Hindi plays "Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar" and "Aa Se Aam Par Charcha," alongside poetry collections and translations.
