After a supernatural encounter, retired Mr. Melih spirals into an existential crisis. As he ventures into a search for the meaning of life, he seeks solace from his family but they are busy with their own crises: His wife Suzan, an ambitious nurse who’s stuck in a life she’s disappointed with, has fallen victim to a scam she cannot tell to anyone. Meanwhile their video-game addict daughter Toprak, an unemployed aspiring writer, hopes to run away from an increasingly bleak future in Turkey. Soon they are all haunted by the "ghosts" of abandoned dreams & alternate possibilities -- quite literally.
Pinar Yorgancioglu holds an MFA in film directing from Columbia University. Her short "Mrs. Nebile’s Wormhole" (2016) premiered at Warsaw FF and won awards at !f and IKSV. Her earlier short "Prayers at Dawn" (2014) screened globally, including Palm Springs and Xining FF. She is an alumna of Biennale College Cinema, Sarajevo Talents, and the Screenwriters Lab co-organized by !f Istanbul & Sundance Institute. Her editing work includes Sundance winner short film "Green".
