The 54th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) commenced with flair at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium in Talegaon, Goa, on November 20, 2023. The charismatic hosts, Ms. Karishma Tanna and Mr. Aparshakti Khurana, set the tone for the evening. The opening film, "Catching Dust," was screened at INOX-Panjim amid the distinguished presence of the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. L Murugan.
The ceremony was graced by Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, alongwith the Chief Minister of Goa Shri Pramod Sawant and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. L Murugan . Also by the stars who brought creative vibrancy, including Madhuri Dixit, Sunny Deol, Shahid Kapoor, Jishu Sengupta, Sara Ali Khan, Karan Johar, Shreya Ghosal, Shantanu Moitra among others. The evening culminated with a resplendent aura. Veteran actor Madhuri Dixit was honored with the Special Recognition to Bhartiya Cinema award for her outstanding contributions to the Indian film industry.
